When you apply for your course you will be given access to the Tutor Resources that will help you deliver your course.

Learners/Delegates should be assessed using a range of assessment methods that meet the Tasks or Assessment Criteria from the qualification specification. The three main assessment methods used will be:

• Observation
• Written
• Questioning

All learner/delegate evidence should be completed within the Learner/Delegate Evidence Record and assessment must be recorded by the Tutor/Assessor with comments to support the assessment decisions made along with dates/signatures.

These are adjustments made to an assessment for a qualification so that a disabled learner can demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding of the qualification.

For more information see the Statement of Principles in Applying Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations (within the Reasonable Adjustments & Special Considerations Policy).

These are considerations to be given to Learners if an illness, injury or some other vent outside of their control has a material impact on their ability to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding.

Our qualifications allow ongoing assessment so if a learner is affected for one assessment the Centre should allow the learner another assessment opportunity.

For more information see the Statement of Principles in Applying Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations (within the Reasonable Adjustments & Special Considerations Policy).

Yes, your learners are welcome to fill in their Learner Evidence Records (LERs) electronically. However, your learners will still need to complete an authenticity confirmation. There are two ways in which this can be done:

A Centre can complete a whole cohort authenticity sheet which all learners sign and date to confirm that all work within their LER is their own.

A Centre can print off the individual authenticity sheets (found within the LERs) to keep in their admin files, again with the learner’s signature and dates.

You are permitted to deliver your qualifications in any language which is appropriate to your learners. However, we ask that your course evidence (ie: Learner Evidence Record) is completed in English.

For details on the Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations Policy click here.

We recommend that you apply for your course six weeks before the course start date via your online LEAP account. This is to ensure you have access to the course materials for your course in time.

Yes. The Unique Learner Number (ULN) is a 10-digit number used to match a learners achievement in to their Personal Learning Record (PLR). Including the ULN or SCN (Scottish Candidate Number) will ensure that the learning is logged on a learner's PLR however it is not compulsory.

Centres have up to 4 weeks from the course start date to notify SLQ of the withdrawal of Learner registration places to be refunded. Please see the  Invoicing and Refund Policy for full details.

For all of our qualifications there is a minimum age which your learners must at least on the start date of the course. To find the minimum age please visit our qualifications page and click on the level you are delivering.

For our awards there is a recommended minimum age.
