During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have created a number of supportive resources to ensure that their learners can continue their work towards developing personal skills and building character.
The first of these resources was our Raising Resilience learning module - you can download the learning resources and learner journal documents for this module here.
This was closely followed by the creation of the 'I Can, I Am' Resilience Education Programme - you can find out more about 'I Can, I Am' here.
We recognize that for 14-18 year olds in particular that the current crisis is having a huge effect on their mental health and we have developed the ‘I Can, I Am' Programme to empower these young people to learn new personal skills and become our ‘Community Builders’ of the future. Research shows us that educational interventions of resilience learning programmes can help with young peoples mental resilience and their return to education following a crisis.
Our intention with this programme of accredited learning is to ensure that pupils and teachers are empowered to be in the best position possible to bounce back from the current situation with confidence, resilience and positivity towards the future. With the current situation continuing to challenge us all in unprecedented ways, we believe that providing young people with the skills and confidence to play an active role in building a positive future is of greater importance than ever.
The programme consists of 10 bitesize modules that are facilitated by a tutor. Tutors will be offered a CPD module on facilitating the programme through home learning in line with the current crisis.
