We are pleased to announce that the latest Centre to achieve Leadership Academy status is Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
Our Leadership Academies are organisations and institutions who put leadership at the heart of everything they do for young people. Only a limited number of organisations are awarded the status of leadership academy and to achieve this they need to demonstrate a strong leadership pathway, high quality delivery, significant impact and engagement with the community and meet a range of additional criteria.
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been using our Level 1 & Level 2 Sports Leadership Qualifications and the Go Lead award to run a number of disability and inclusion programmes.
They have been working with Joseph Clarke School (a centre of excellence for learners with visual impairment) to deliver the Go Lead award to learners who are partially sighted or registered blind. Tottenham Hotspur Foundation worked with the school to use the existing Go Lead resources and specially adapt them into braille for each of the learners.
Chief Executive, Richard Norman said: “There is a fantastic buzz around N17 at the moment and we are delighted that our Qualifications and Awards are contributing to the exciting new developments. We are always proud when our Centre’s take our Qualifications and Awards into new areas and seeing them being used to increase inclusion is inspiring. We are thrilled to be working with them and award them with Leadership Academy status.”
Richard Allicock, Community Development Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation said: “We are really proud to have achieved a Leadership Academy status. All the staff have worked very hard and we are pleased that our efforts have been recognised in this way.”
