Tutor Training Webinars

The Tutor Training process is simple

1. Register on the SLQ Sports Leaders Moodle platform.

Make sure to use the email that you are registered with your Centre with us. You will also be required to provide the details of your Centre name and Centre ID number so have these handy. {insert the Moodle link here} Please note, this is a different system to LEAP and you will need to create a login if you have not accessed this before.

2. Watch a video to get all the information you need to deliver and assess your course.

It can be watched wherever, whenever and as many times as you like.

3. Complete the online Knowledge Check

A short quiz to check your understanding of the video. Successfully completing this will mean being awarded Trained Tutor/Assessor status.

4. Download your Certificate

You can keep a copy for own personal development records.

e-training comes as 2 sections, training and knowledge check. Once the knowledge check is complete with all questions correctly answered you will be able to download your e-certificate.

Approximately 45 minutes. Once you have registered you can complete in your own time and at your own pace.

As soon as the 'Tutoring & Assessing Leadership Skills' webinar has been attended.

Every Centre must have a minimum of one Trained Tutor who has completed tutor training.

It is not mandatory for all Tutor/Assessors at your Qualification Centre to complete the Tutor Training. However, it would be considered as good practice and an excellent opportunity to complete some CPD as part of your ongoing professional development. There is no limit to how many people from your Centre can access the free tutor training.

There is no longer be a requirement for Tutor/Assessors to refresh their training every two years.

Instead, individualised support will be given to Centres based on any needs identified during your Quality Assurance Review. Centres that show they are meeting all requirements will be able to continue to deliver as they are. Conversely, Centres that do not meet assessment standards or are in need of development will be asked to update their Trained Tutor status, using the new support tools we have in place.

We have developed a range of topical videos and course activity ideas to help you deliver your course successfully. These include Internal Verification, Quality Assurance Process, getting the most out of LEAP and effectively assessing learners. You can access them here.
