Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership (HSL) 

This is a half-day workshop for new tutors of the Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership.  The information and ideas are disseminated through various briefings and activities as shown in the timetable below:

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is intended for new tutors of the Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership that have not received training for this qualification previously, but are looking to build on their delivery of the Level 2 Sports Leaders UK qualifications. This qualification is appropriate for any centre who works with candidates that are 16 years and older. However, the candidates need to be 18 years or older before they can be certificated.

What is the aim of this workshop?

This workshop offers to walk you through the Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership  qualification, detailing the following information:

• Qualification overview
  • You will look at exactly what your candidates will have to achieve in order to gain the qualification. In particular the minimum standards that a candidate must achieve.
• Delivery ideas and unit content
  • We will outline ideas and examples to help you think about how your candidates might achieve the course objectives. This will include some practical activities, so please wear suitable clothing and footwear (for example, tracksuit/shorts and trainers).
  • Each unit will be looked at individually, and delivery ideas will be explored.
• Assessment procedures
  • We will look at how you assess your candidates and what paperwork is involved in the process, so that you feel confident about these procedures.
• Quality Assurance expectations
  • You will have an understanding of the Quality Assurance procedures, and who else is involved in the delivery of your course and verification of your candidates.

What needs to be done before attending the workshop?

It is a good idea for you to have familiarised yourself with the Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership Tutor Resource Pack (TRP) before you attend this session. However, you do not need to bring your TRP with you. To purchase a TRP, please download the TRP Order Form.
