Level 3 Certificate in Basic Expedition Leadership (BEL3)

There are two options for tutors seeking training for Sports Leaders UK outdoor leadership qualifications, offering a separate programme for both new and experienced tutors of the Level 3 Award in Day Walk Leadership and the Level 3 Certificate in Basic Expedition Leadership.

For new tutors or those without experience of the Level 3 delivery

Ten Tutor Training days will host a full day workshop (09:15 to 16:00), which will cover the general content of the Level 3 Award in Day Walk Leadership and the Level 3 Certificate in Basic Expedition Leadership, engaging delegates in both theoretical and practical activities. The training will cover aspects of Quality Assurance and assessment, guiding tutors through all of the required parts of the courses. The day is designed for tutors with no previous training or who have no experience of delivering these courses since they became Level 3 qualifications in September 2010.

During the day there will be many opportunities for questions to be answered and any queries about the qualifications can be addressed. Please note that anybody can attend the training but to be the main course Tutor/Assessor on a DWL or BEL course, tutors need to be a summer-qualified Mountain Leader or Walking Group Leader.
