Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership (DL1)
Level 2 Award in Dance Leadership (DL2)
This is a full day workshop that focuses on the principles of
teaching leadership through dance. You will sample both theory and
practical activities that explore leadership through musical
awareness, stimulus development and the creation of movement
phrases/dance motif.
The training day is suitable for both brand new tutors, and
those who have had experience of Sports Leaders UK Tutor Training
and/or delivering our awards and qualifications in the past.
It is beneficial for tutors of the dance leadership qualifications
to have some dance specific experience but it is not necessary to
be a dance specialist. Please be aware that if you are already a
Trained Tutor for the Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Sports
Leadership, then it is not compulsory that you attend the
training for dance leadership as the philosophy of teaching
leadership and the quality assurance principles remain the
same.
The full Tutor Training day runs from 09:15 to 16:00, with
registration and refreshments available from 08:45.
NB - The training will cover both the
Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership and the
Level 2 Award in Dance Leadership (the Level 2
Award in Dance Leadership will be available from February
2012).
Overview of Tutor Training Workshops
The training day will give a full insight into how the
Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Dance Leadership can
be delivered, including information on:
- Units, Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria.
- Delivery ideas and activities.
- Assessment procedures.
- Quality Assurance and paperwork requirements.
- How to use the resources available.
There will be practical sessions, where tutors will have the
opportunity to learn how they can use practical methods of delivery
to their learners.
There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions on the day,
and information will be given as to how tutors are supported after
the training has finished.
