Tutor Training

PDB-logo -webSports Leaders UK's Tutor Training programmes aim to give new tutors the opportunity to gain an insight into the content, assessment, and administration procedures of the qualifications. They are also an opportunity for experienced tutors to gain new examples of good practice, and share their own experiences.

Tutor Training days are held at a number of different locations around the UK. These programmes provide information and ideas to aid the understanding and delivery of the qualifications.

In order for an Approved Assessment Centre (AAC) to deliver Sports Leaders UK qualifications:

  • At least one person per AAC must have attended Sports Leaders UK Tutor Training within the last three years.
  • It is compulsory for a minimum of one person per AAC to attend Tutor Training for the relevant qualification level. For example if an AAC has one person who has completed a Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership training, the AAC will be eligible to run the Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership as the philosophy of teaching leadership and the Quality Assurance principles remain the same. If an AAC has one person who has completed a Level 2 training and it wishes to run a Level 3 course, one person must attend a Level 3 Tutor Training day.

The Sports Leaders UK Tutor Training team aim to inspire and motivate tutors to embark upon the delivery of a Sports Leadership qualification. To ensure new and experienced tutors receive the relevant training, Sports Leaders UK have created a range of Tutor Training programmes.
