A Step by Step Guide to Running Your Course

Apply to run the Literacy Leader Award
If you decide that you want to go ahead and deliver the Literacy Leader Award then simply fill in the Course Application Form and return it to Sports Leaders UK. On completion of the application form you will receive access to a Tutor Resource.

Read the Tutor Resource
Sounds obvious enough! But by reading the whole resource before you start to plan your course you will be able to make important decisions regarding selecting your learners, the structure of your course and what your expectations will be. This will give you the confidence to run a really successful course.

Deliver the course
The most successful courses are those that use the Tutor Resource as a guide but adapt the activities and resources to suit their learner's needs.

Decide who has completed the course
Following the suggestions in the Tutor Resource. You will receive a successful Learner Certification Form once you have registered your course.

Think about 'what next?' for your Literacy Leaders
Now that your Literacy Leaders have completed the course and got their certificate to prove it, what will they do next? How will they use their leadership skills to benefit the organisation? How can you keep them involved in leading others?

Deliver your next course
You have done the hard work by running the course for the first time, now you can go on to run your next ones with ever increasing confidence. Just simply complete another Course Application Form.
