Why is there a cost to withdraw?

To ensure that a Centre is withdrawn correctly Sports Leaders UK will be required to carry out a final Quality Assurance Review.  The cost to carry this out and the administration costs are covered by the withdrawal fee.  This is common practice with in line other Awarding Organisations.

To avoid the following academic years minimum spend the Centre must notify Sports Leaders UK by the 1st May.

Why has a minimum spend been introduced?

As an Awarding Organisation, Sports Leaders UK carries out an annual self-assessment review.  This review at the end of 2015, identified the average cost for Sports Leaders UK to maintain a Centre. Therefore, we have decided to implement an annual minimum Centre spend in order to cover the costs of servicing Centres.  This will ensure that a high level of service is continued with each of our Centres.

A minimum spend policy is in place for many other Awarding Organisations.

When is the Centre invoiced for the minimum spend?

The Centre has from 1st August to the 31st July of the following year to ensure the minimum spend clause in the Terms and Conditions is met.  If a Centre by the 31st July has not met the required spend they will be invoiced the difference in August.

For example: if a Centre has only spent £300 and the minimum spend is set at £350 the Centre will be invoiced the remaining balance of £50 in the August.

A Centre has read the new T&Cs and does not wish to sign up to them?

On the Terms and Conditions correspondence sent on the 1 March 2016, please click on the 'Respond to the Terms and Conditions' and then 'No, I am not interested in running Sports Leaders UK courses'.

A withdrawal form is not required at the present due to Centres running through the current Terms and Conditions. Once the new 2016 Terms and Conditions start on 1 August 2016, the withdrawal form with a fee will start.

From this your Centre will either be put on inactive status straight away or a Quality Assurance Review will be required to take place, view the other questions for more advice on this.

A Centre is still delivering qualifications but wish to withdraw?

If your Centre wishes to withdraw from delivery of Sports Leaders UK qualifications but are still currently running a qualification, see below:

Once you have informed us of your withdrawal, you will be required to run the course until the end without disadvantaging the Learner(s) in anyway. Once the Learner(s) have been certificated, the Centre will be put on as inactive status (see below*), resources evoked and no more courses are allowed to be applied for.

*Please be aware that if the Centre has had a QA visit within the last 2 years, then a final quality assurance review is not necessary and the Centre will be placed as inactive straight away.

*If the Centre has not had a QA visit in the last 2 years and have recently certificated a course then the Centre will require a quality assurance review from our Quality Assurance Team who will be in contact to arrange.

What happens if we wish to run a qualification within the year of maintaining our Centre?

If a Centre would like to maintain for 12 months on, for example the 1st August and pays the £50 maintenance fee, if the Centre then had an opportunity to deliver qualifications before the following July 31st what would happen to the £50?

Your Centre would need to let our Customer Service Advisor know so the maintenance fee payment of £50 can be credited to your account.
