Learning Outcomes

Unit 1 - Planning, preparing and assisting a simple maths activity
 Learning Outcome 1 - Plan and prepare a simple maths activity.
Learning Outcome 2 - Deliver a simple maths activity whilst under supervision.
Learning Outcome 3 - Evaluate each session.
Learning Outcome 4 - Plan future sessions.
Learning Outcome 5 - Work within a group environment.

Unit 2 - Communication and motivation skills for leading a maths activity
 Learning Outcome 1 - Use verbal and non-verbal communication within a maths context.
Learning Outcome 2 - Communicate with groups and individuals involved in maths activities.
Learning Outcome 3 - Use support materials to communicate in a maths context.
Learning Outcome 4 - Use a variety of motivational methods whilst delivering a maths activity.

Unit 3 - Delivering maths across the curriculum
Learning Outcome 1 - Recognise how maths is used in everyday life.
Learning Outcome 2 - Understand how maths is used throughout the curriculum.
Learning Outcome 3 - Plan and deliver a maths activity within a specific subject area.

Unit 4 - Compendium of maths games and activity
Learning Outcome 1 - Select activities which are suitable for the age and ability of participants.
Learning Outcome 2 - Ensure that all participants are fully involved in the activity.
Learning Outcome 3 - Deliver the activity in a safe and stimulating way.
Learning Outcome 4 - Adapt the activity as necessary so that everyone can achieve.

Unit 5 - Organise and run a maths event/club
 Learning Outcome 1 - Plan and prepare a maths event.
Learning Outcome 2 - Run a maths event working both individually and as part of a team.
Learning Outcome 3 - Publicise the event.
Learning Outcome 4 - Evaluate the event and use this to inform future planning and delivery.

Unit 6 - Demonstration of leadership skills
 Learning Outcome 1 - Plan, deliver and evaluate a number of maths sessions, including at least two different maths activities, for your peer group or lower age children.
