We collect information about you when you register with us or place an order for products or services. We also collect information when you provide feedback or participate in competitions or activities run by us. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

If you are an individual registering for yourself, you must tell us your name and address, your date of birth and your gender so we can where necessary positively identify you against other people with the same name. We also ask for basic details about your racial and ethnic origins because it allows us to anonymously monitor whether we are reaching all parts of our community, and because we are obliged to tell our regulators. We ask for email addresses and telephone numbers so we can get in touch with you, and where necessary speed up any processing we do on your behalf, although you are not obliged to give this information.

If you are representing an organisation, including Approved Assessment Centres, you must supply your name and address, your organisation's name and address, and your date of birth, so we can where necessary positively identify you against other people with the same name. We also ask for your website address, an email address, and telephone and fax numbers so we can get in touch with you, and where necessary speed up any processing we do on your behalf although you are not obliged to give this information.

If you are purchasing merchandise, but do not want to register as an Approved Assessment Centre or as a learner or tutor, we keep your details so we can record who placed orders with us. You will need to supply details about your name and the receiving address, although we ask for other contact details to make it easier to contact you in the event of a problem with your order.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to process your order, manage your relationship with us, and report selected data including certain sensitive personal information to our regulators and framework organisations. Where you have specifically agreed, we will email you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you, and share your details with other carefully selected organisations.

Where you have given us information through the internet, and you have enabled cookies, we use the information collected from the website to personalise your repeat visits to our website.

Marketing

We would like to send you information about other products or services of ours which may be of interest to you. If you have already consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date simply by contacting us. You are also able to subsequently opt-in to receive information by contacting us in writing.

If you agree, we shall pass on some of your personal information to carefully selected organisations that can provide you with details of other sporting related opportunities.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your information to other organisations.

Privacy and Electronic Communications Act 2003

If you have not previously chosen to opt in to be contacted by us, we will contact you only in certain circumstances. Those include obtaining your details previously when providing or discussing products or services; contacting you about your own similar products or services; and giving you the opportunity to opt out of receiving further marketing messages every time we contact you.

Sharing your information with our regulators

We are obliged under our framework agreement to give your personal information to our regulators and framework organisations whilst you are connected with us. If you do not want that to happen, you will have to stop our relationship, which you can do by contacting us. We may ask you to confirm that instruction in writing.

The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) service is operated by the Learning Skills Council (LSC) for learners engaged within the QCF. LSC offers a service which stores learner unit and qualification achievements, and supports an Awarding Organisation in its ability to make awards of qualifications based on units awarded by other Awarding Organisations. The service will also offer Learning Providers the ability to access an individual's Record of Achievement for the purpose of providing advice and guidance.

All organisations that will have access to the information you provide are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. At no time will your personal information be passed to organisations for marketing or sales purposes.

Individuals can opt-out of sharing QCF achievement data with those organisations listed in section 537A of the Education Act. Details of opting-out of data sharing can be found by telephoning the QCF service desk on 0870 267 0054.
